Event Notes:
Charlene Rendina - Australian 800m Record Holder
When it comes to longevity in terms of Australian track records you can't go past Charlene Rendina's women's 800m record of 1.59.0h - set way back in 1976. Although Tamsyn Lewis has challenged the record on numerous occasions, the record still remains and is unlikely to be broken anytime soon.
One of the all-time greatest Australian records was set by Cathy Freeman at the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games. Freeman's time of 48.63sec still ranks her at no.6 on the World all-time ranking list, behind the incredible World Record of 47.60sec set by Marita Koch of East Germany in 1985.
One of the more impressive results on the track was achieved at the 1968 Olympics in Mexico City, where 17 year-old Raelene Boyle produced an 11.20sec 100m and 22.74sec 200m - with her 200m performance bringing her home a silver medal, while she was 4th in the 100m. Both times still stand as U/18 and U/20 Australian records and her 100m time still ranks her at no.4 on the Australian all-time 100m ranking list.
No Australian women's track records were broken in 2010, although Rebecca Lowe did run a 15.59.46 on an oversized indoor track in Seattle, USA in February. This would have been a new Australian Indoor record for the women's 5000m had it not been for the fact that it was run on an oversized track.

Lisa Corrigan is listed twice in 800m rankings.
Thanks for that – all corrected!
